Registration Info
What is included with registration?
Each participant will receive a numbered bib similar to other running events and a t-shirt (to the first 150). At the end of the race each participant will also receive a swag bag full of fun stuff and valuable information.
Can I purchase a FYMFTA 5K Awareness shirt?
No, each participant that desires a shirt will receive one free of cost on a first come first serve basis. There is a limited quantity of shirts available, don’t wait to sign-up! Shirts will be given out on day of event at check-in at 8:30AM.
Is this a race?
The Free Your Mind, Free The Air 5K Awareness Run is more “family friendly community event” than a race. If you and your friends decide to race against each other, please be aware there are participants of all ages and speeds on the course that may impede your speed. The event is not timed. Safety first, then fun!
Who has to register?
Each person that would like to participate is required to register prior to the event. Early registration secures your t-shirt.
When does online registration close?
Online registration will close Friday, March 28, 2025 at 5:00 PM. After online registration closes, you can download, print, and complete the registration form. Bring the completed form to check-in on day of event OR arrive early enough to fill out the form at check-in (8:30AM) day of event.

Why is the FYMFTA 5K Awareness Run free?
The Placer County Youth Commission wishes to promote healthy coping mechanisms to help reduce stress and reduce the use of nicotine in our community, by providing this fun free event.
What if I registered but can’t make the event?
Please email placercoyouthcommission@gmail.com as soon as possible to let us know.
Preparing for the event
Where can I pick up my bib and shirt?
All bibs and shirts will be distributed on day of event during check-in at 8:30AM at the Start/Finish area. Nothing is required to pick up for yourself and immediate family members.
What do I need to know about this course?
This course is fully paved. There is potential for there to be sports games happening during this event. Please be careful when running around the softball fields.
Can I bring a dog?
Yes, dogs are welcome on a leash. Please consider the following before bringing your dog – Is your dog friendly with other dogs? Is your dog aggressive? Is your dog comfortable in a large crowd?
It is your responsibility to clean up after your dog along the course and in the park, obey all leash laws, have current shots, and is tagged/licensed since the event takes place in a city park and on city streets. If your dog is aggressive, barks at dogs/people, or creates a nuisance, you will be asked to remove the dog from the event.
Can I bring a stroller or wagon?
Yes! Since this is a family friendly event, stroller and wagons are ok. Please NO hoverboards, bicycles, or tricycles.

What time does the event start and finish?

8:30 AM Pick up bib/shirt and fun begins in Maidu Regional Park

Are there bathrooms and water?
There will be bathrooms and bottled water in the start/finish area. One water station will be placed halfway through the route.
What is the course?
This 5K (3.1 miles) course starts/ends at the tot turf and sport court picnic area, weaves around the softball fields and through Maidu Regional Park’s paved trail. Click here to view map of run course.
Where can I park?
Parking is available at Maidu Regional Park. There is limited right in front of the start/finish area, but plenty throughout the park.
What if I don't want to run/walk?
Even if you don't want to run/walk still join us at this great event. At the start/finish line there will be games, coloring pages, and information booths. Join us for a fun morning!
